I'm here, we're here, we are walking hand in hand

In order to thoroughly implement the 20th CPC National Congress and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the conference celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the inauguration ceremony of the 6th Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to seize the opportunity of the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and to enthusiastically participate in the "Women's Action for Science and Technology Innovation", the theme activity of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area women's integration and coordinated development was successfully held in Shenzhen sponsored by the All-China Women's Federation, hosted by Guangdong Women's Federation, and co-sponsored by Shenzhen Women's Federation and Shenzhen Nanshan District Committee.

At the opening ceremony, Xu Hong, Party Secretary and Chairman of Guangdong Women's Federation, introduced the activities. Lin Yi, member of the All-China Women's Federation Party Committee, vice chairman and secretary of the Secretariat, and Meng Fanli, deputy secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, delivered speeches via video.

During the exchange session, eight women representatives of scientific and technological innovation from Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao were invited to give keynote speeches. Ms. Dong Ning, the chairman of Shenzhen Bamboocloud Technology Co., Ltd. and the president of Shenzhen Women Entrepreneurs Association, was invited to attend the event and share the theme of "I'm here, we're here, we're walking hand in hand".

The other day, I was on a business trip in several cities, and it was obvious that the weather had become colder. General Secretary Xi Jinping in the report of the 20th CPC National Congress emphasized the three strategic pillars. We must adhere to the "science and technology is the first productive force, talent is the first resource, innovation is the first driving force", in-depth implementation of the strategy of science and education, talent strategy, innovation-driven development strategy, open up new areas of development of new tracks, and constantly shaping the development of new momentum and new advantages. " More critically, we are currently facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities in some industrial fields, and in the face of challenges, we need to make more efforts to move from catching up to leading and continuously enhancing independent innovation in science and technology.

Here, as a female science and technology entrepreneur, I would like to say: I am here, we are here, in the All-China Women's Federation, provincial and municipal women's federations at all levels, industry departments and all sectors of society, all the female science and technology workers and all entrepreneurs in China are here walking hand in hand, together to meet the challenges of winter. The road to entrepreneurship is a difficult one full of obstacles, facing huge competition and the need to make decisive life trade-offs. The hardest part of the entrepreneurial process is mental fortitude and endurance. We enjoy sharing with friends when we see beautiful sunrises and sunsets, when we achieve something at work, and similarly when we encounter difficulties, we are lucky if we can meet like-minded partners for mutual encouragement and achievement.

I am glad to see that more partners are emerging on the road of entrepreneurship and innovation, and I can communicate and consult with those who are moving forward together at any time. Here, as a technology entrepreneur, I am very grateful to the All-China Women's Federation and provincial and municipal women's federations at all levels, as well as industry organizations at all levels and all walks of life for the care and support given to us entrepreneurs!

Women in Science and Technology Strive for a Strong Nation

    In 2021, in order to promote the self-reliance and self-improvement of science and technology and contribute to women's power in the new journey of building a modern socialist country, the All-China Women's Federation, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Sasac of The State Council and so on jointly researched and formulated the "Opinions on Implementing Women's Action in Science and Technology Innovation", which pointed out that the scale of China's female science and technology talent team has gradually expanded, and there are nearly 40 million female science and technology workers with significantly improved capabilities, making outstanding contributions in various aspects such as basic theory, applied technology and engineering practice, and being an indispensable and important force in promoting science and technology innovation.

Social organization platforms at all levels not only support women entrepreneurs and technological innovation, but equally importantly, give society a more comprehensive understanding of the achievements made by women entrepreneurs.

Women's power to promote science and technology innovation

In 2015, Tu Youyou won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine because of the discovery of artemisinin which can effectively reduce the mortality of malaria patients, and became the first China native to win the Nobel Prize in science. After the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2019, many female medical staff took part in the first line of rescue, treating patients and saving lives. 80% of the young vaccine research team of Sinopharm China Bio-Beijing Co., Ltd. were female scientific and technological talents, and the first vaccine production workshop in COVID-19 was built in 60 days, which took the lead in realizing the international registration and listing of COVID-19 vaccine, and became a model for female scientific and technological talents to carry out team scientific and technological innovation. In November, 2021, Wang Yaping, the first female astronaut stationed in China's space station, took the first step to walk in outer space in China's female cabin.

Women solve problems for society and industry with different perspectives and unique abilities

Women have played an active role in all fields of our society. Actually, many articles that people like were invented by women, which solved the problems that people encountered in their work and life. For example, circular saw, windshield wiper, ironing board, car heater, modern syringe, coffee filter, refrigerator, electric water heater, pedal trash can, wireless transmission technology, disposable diapers, correction fluid, Kevlar fiber, etc., and these are just a few of the invention patents obtained by female scientific and technological workers. Women can be inventors, scientific research soilders, and technical experts. In the field of information technology and software,we also see a large number of applications developed by women, which are widely used. Women scientists and technicians promote the innovation, progress and development of science and technology with unique perspective and thinking mode.

Embrace scientific and technological innovation and highlight the strength of women

At the same time, we also see more female tech talents participating in tech entrepreneurship. According to the research report, women have taken up half of the technology entrepreneurship in China's Internet sector. China Entrepreneur surveyed 270 Chinese entrepreneurial women, 63% of whom are tech entrepreneurs, and they are mostly found in high-tech manufacturing, software, financial services and technology, and biotechnology. There are already many entrepreneurial women in the technology field around us. For example, looking around the country I have met some very talented female tech entrepreneurs:

In 2020, she won the championship in the National Female Creators Competition held in Qingdao. For all tech entrepreneurs, we know that as technology innovation is reshaping the world, uncertainty from the epidemic is accelerating the global digital transformation process, and the proliferation of telecommuting and cloud services is making organizations more desperate for digital capabilities and related technical talent. For many technology entrepreneurs, they need to quickly master the latest digital technologies to maintain their core competencies and cope with the changes brought about by various uncertainties.
